February Announcements and Important Information

9 February – Contest for the best work in the Polish Language: Grades 4-8
16 February – No Classes – Family Day weekend
23 February – International Mother Language Day – 11:00 – 14:00 Italian Cultural Centre, 14230 133 Ave NW

Important Information:
1. School IDs
We ask anyone who is interested with getting or renewing a Polish student ID to read through the information about them – click here.
Completed forms will be collected until the end of February.

2. School Cookbook
As we did not receive enough recipes before Christmas, we’re continuing our search.
As a fundraiser for our school, we are hoping to create a school cookbook full of our – and your – recipes. It would contain all of our favourite recipes, whether they be holiday foods, breakfast foods, desserts and birthday cakes, or our beloved grandmothers’ soups. Illustrations for the book would be provided by our students – your children!
We ask for your participation by sending up to three of your favourite family recipes along with illustrations by your children – whether they be of the food itself or of something tied to it such as holiday decorations – as well as a time of year that the recipe is tied to if applicable. We encourage you to title the recipe and illustrations, as well as if you would like your child’s name to be printed as an artist credit. Please send images as a JPG (or if impossible as a PDF, TIFF or BMP) with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
Of course – if you prefer – you may also just bring a paper copy of the recipe and illustration to school! We will continue to collect recipes until April.
If we are able to collect enough to realize this project; everyone who contributed will be entered to win one of three free copies.
